Castello di Volpaia – Chianti Classico

The vineyards of Volpaia, located between 300 and 600m. a.s.l., are between the highest of the Chianti region. This is one of the reasons why our Chianti Classico is renowned for its elegance and freshness with a rich bouquet of red fruits and spices.This juicy red has grip, setting the backdrop for pure cherry, blueberry, earth, iron and tobacco flavors. Smooth and delicious, this opens with inviting scents of raspberry jam, cake spice, violet and a whiff of forest floor. The savory, juicy palate doles out ripe Marasca cherry, truffle and star anise framed in polished tannins. Though light-weight, this should develop over the next three to five years.
