The grapes are selected from three different vineyards located in Monforte, Castiglione Falletto, La Morra and other few villages in Langhe region, with 45000 vines per hectare. The age of the vines varies from 25 till 40-year-old. Soil is limestone-clay.
Alcoholic fermentation lasts approximately 2 weeks and it’s done in stainless steel tanks with daily pumping overs. Malolactic fermentation is done in steel tanks.

Aging: Mixed ageing between barriques, big casks and stainless steel tanks for approximately 1 year..

Description: Ruby color with ripe red cherry aromas and vanilla. With hints of violets the on the palate it shows bright acidity, soft tannins with good integration of oak, good complexity and a lingering cherry finish.

Food Pairings: Antipasti, rich salads, grilled seasoned vegetables, hearty soups/stews, pastas or with breaded veal, pork, chicken with light sauces

Made with late harvested 100% Barbera grapes grown in estate-owned vineyards in Rocchetta Tanaro.

In the Cellar
Temperature controlled maceration on skins takes place for 20 days. The wine spends 15 months in oak casks and then ages in the bottle for a year.

Very deep ruby red colour with garnet highlights. Ample, rich and complex bouquet with numerous scents of fruit and a background of vanilla, liquorice and cocoa notes. Full, powerful flavour with a great structure, yet elegant and sensual at the same time, harmonious and very persistent. Ideal with roasts and meat dishes, also with sauces, and mature cheeses.
