Pico Maccario – Barolo Serralunga d’Alba MGA

Based in the famous Piedmont region of northwestern Italy, Pico Maccario is taking a modern approach to both vineyard management and production of their wines.
This Barolo DOCG is from the MGA Serralunga d’Alba. 100% Nebbiolo cultivated in soils of Miocene-Helvetian origin; white, calcareous marl with veins of sand.
It has the typical garnet light red notes of nebbiolo wines. The bouquet is fresh, rich in small red fruits and floral fragrances, and strong hot spice hints (licorice, sweet tobacco). It is elegant and balanced to the mouth. The finish is long and showing all the structure of this age worthy wine.
