Bidoli

Bidoli Vini is today run by brother and sister team: winemaker Arrigo Bidoli and his sister Margherita, who looks after sales and marketing.

Their picturesque winery is situated in the Friuli region of north east Italy, nestled in a beautiful valley at the foot of the Alps. The region has long been famous for its Pinot Grigio, but Arrigo also produces fabulous Sauvignon Blanc and a Chardonnay as well as Cabernet and Merlot.

The Bidoli wines grow in the area called “Friuli Grave”, which straddles the Tagliamento river between the provinces of Pordenone and Udine. The main feature of the vineyards here is the massive presence of gravelly soil.

The peculiarity of these soils, together with the beneficial effect of the Adriatic Sea and the shelter provided by the presence of the Dolomites, the Carnic Alps, and the Julian Alps, combine to create a particularly favourable environment for the cultivation of vine.
