The Casato Prime Donne Estate has been in Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s family since 1592, is 300m above sea level and is surrounded by 16 hectares of vineyards. The winery is a first of its kind in Italy in that it has an all woman staff.

PROVENANCE
This wine comes from two small Sangiovese vineyards which surround the Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino, Tuscany, which was built in the 16th century.
TASTE PROFILE
The wine, made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, is a dark, ruby-red colour with garnet edges. The nose is full and rich, yet fine with hints of spices and red fruits, including sweet cherries and raspberries. The palate is intense and full with a warm, lingering finish. A wine of complexity and elegance, showing the feminine character of the maker. Like any other Brunello di Montalcino, it needs to rest and age in vats/barrique for 24 months and only be released on the 5th calendar year after vintage
